Nichelle Bennett is a native of Deptford, New Jersey. She recently moved to Dallas, TX with her husband. She has a passion to serve others and see individuals reaching their full potential in Christ. She graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Psychology and later obtained her Masters in Theological Studies from Palmer Seminary in Pennsylvania. She is excited about serving at CCA and is truly blessed to be a part of the team.
Herb holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering degree from SMU. After a career in Information in Information Technology, Herb was led by The Lord to teach and help urban youth. He has been a mentor through Big Brothers and Big Sisters, a tutor at several schools, and has taught the Faith & Finances class at Brother Bill’s Helping Hand, in Dallas. Herb teaches several subjects including Math, Science and Bible, and he is the technology facilitator for the school.
Brandie Burkhalter serves as the Director of Engagement at CCA. She enjoys connecting with others and getting them involved in God’s work at CCA. Brandie holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Substance Abuse and Addictions from the University of North Texas. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling degree at Dallas Baptist University. Brandie serves in many capacities at Restoration Community Church in West Dallas.
Kristi Lichtenberg is the Executive Director of Cornerstone Crossroads Academy. She holds a B.A. in Guidance & Counseling, an M.A. in Bilingual Education, and a doctorate in Educational Administration. Coming to CCA with 15 years of experience in public schools, she brings expertise in program evaluation and campus administration. She is married to her hero, Scott, and has a daughter and brand new son-in-law. She believes God has fulfilled her greatest dreams by allowing her to know, love, & serve young people at CCA for the past 8 years.
Monisha serves as the Director of Special Programs at CCA. This is her fifth year on staff. She holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of New Orleans, and a MBA in Non Profit Management from the University of Dallas. Monisha enjoys teaching Girls’ Bible, Speech, and College & Career Readiness to her awesome students. In addition to 10 plus years in youth development, Monisha has extensive experience in curriculum development, community engagement, and fitness training. Monisha was the City Coordinator for the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative Dallas Cohort in 2016. She is the founder and head coach for Runner’s Revelations, a running program specifically designed for novice runners.
Jamal is the Student Work Program Manager. After graduating from CCA, Jamal worked at Weir’s Furniture in the warehouse and on a delivery truck. Jamal is uniquely positioned to lead the students as he shares his powerful story of leaving behind the street life, graduating from the Men of Nehemiah, completing high school, entering the work force, and becoming a godly leader in our community.
Sally serves and the Principal at CCA and is in her second year on staff at CCA. She received her B.A. from University of Houston with a double major in Creative Writing and Education, and has 15 years of experience teaching Reading, English, and ESL to middle and high school students. Sally is passionate about education and cheers her students on long after they leave her classroom. Outside of school, Sally can usually be found having a dance party with her children, snapping pictures of friends and family, reading, or writing her future novel.
Jean Wood serves as Life Coach Coordinator and Case Manager at CCA. Jean is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Social Work and a seasoned life coach/mentor with over 45 years experience working with inner city teens in Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, and Dallas; a wife of over 40 years, homeschooling mom of 3 grown children and “Grammy” to 6 grandchildren. She loves the relationships to Cornerstone.
